While we are held, by divine revelation and ecclesial exhortation, to participate in Mass every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation, we are invited every day to participate in this "most august of all the Sacraments" (LG 11). As blessed Pope Paul VI says, "the Mass is the most perfect form of prayer!" So, welcome to join us at Mass, available every day.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2628) speaks of this great and ancient mode of prayer before God:
"Adoration is the first attitude of man acknowledging that he is a creature before his Creator. It exalts the greatness of the Lord who made us and the almighty power of the Savior who sets us free from evil. Adoration is homage of the spirit to the 'King of Glory,' respectful silence in the presence of the 'ever greater' God. Adoration of the thrice-holy and sovereign God of love blends with humility and gives assurance to our supplications."
The Christian soul benefits even more from applying this prayer of adoration to Christ, present Body and Soul in the Blessed Sacrament. While this moment of intimacy happens perfectly before any place where the Blessed Sacrament is present especially in the tabernacles, exposition gives the adorer a fuller expression of that intimacy.
Adoration in Exposition is Wednesdays from 8:30 am - 8 pm and Fridays from 12:40-1:40pm.
